Course introduced for women with caring responsibilities who want to return to work

Droitwich Editorial 26th Aug, 2019   0

A SHORT course will be starting next month for women with caring responsibilities looking to return to work.

The course offers flexible working patterns to women returning to work after having a baby, caring for a child or an adult dependant.

Trainers aim to help learners with one-on-one job coaching, as well as restoring confidence and skills, advice with CVs and options to gain formal qualifications.

The programme, run by the Square Metre Group, also offers refreshing women’s IT skills, interview and support tips and meeting guest speakers from local employers.

DWP figures show 1.9 million more women are in work since 2010, and ethnic minority employment level soars to a new record high.

Rebecca Baker, head of marketing for the Square Metre Group, said: “Our aim is to support these ladies back into work. We also aim to help learners restore their confidence and empower them to grow both professionally and personally.

“This is the first course of this type locally that aims to address the growing skills and gender gap across Worcestershire.”

The course is entry level and lasts for four weeks at the old county court building in Church Road, Redditch starting September 10 on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9.30am and 2.30pm.
