One day left to get your festive shoeboxes to Droitwich's Specsavers

A DROITWICH optician is asking its customers not to be blind to children who may go without this Christmas and donate shoeboxes full of festive goodies.

The Specsavers in St Andrews Square is a drop off point for the annual Operation Christmas Child Appeal. They are collecting the boxes for the Samaritan’s Purse charity until Sunday (November 22).

The packages can be filled with gifts such as toys, school supplies and toiletries and will be taken to the organisation’s hub the be distributed around the world. Donors can register to track their box for £3.

Store director, Emma Singh, said they were proud to be supporting the scheme this year.

“Christmas is a time for giving and by donating a box we can support those less fortunate than ourselves, and help put a smile on children’s faces in disadvantaged parts of the world.”

Customers should indicate whether the box is for a boy or a girl and put on an age category – two to four, five to nine or ten to 14.
